2010
News:
BC Day Festival.
This event takes place on Sunday, August 1, starting
at 12 noon. Fun for kids and adults! Includes Bouncey Castle and Moonwalk House,
tattoos, a magician. Hamburger and hot dog barbecue. 5th Annual Bocce Ball Tournament
for adults (1 pm). Craft tables. Beer garden. Live music (Broke and Winded). Salmon
barbecue planned for 5 pm.
Cluxewe Cafe.
We opened on June 30 and plan to remain open until the Labour Day weekend (with
the exception of August 1, the BC Day Festival - see above). Hours are 11:30 to
8 pm. Look for our Tuesday night Fish and Chip special and varying Friday night
specials.
Our New Rack Card for 2010 is a Work
of Art. Take a look!
It incorporates a beautiful design of a kingfisher and a fish, honouring the natural
environment of Cluxewe, by renowned Kwakiutl artist, Richard
Hunt.
Reservations
for 2011: We have begun to take reservations for 2011. Call (250 949-0378)
or stop in the office and check on availability.
HST:
Beginning on July 1, 2010 Cluxewe Resort will be obligated to charge this 12%
tax on campsite rentals (replacing the 5% GST). Cabin rentals will also be subject
to this tax, along with a 2% Hotel Room Tax.
Wireless
Internet. We've re-established our
wireless internet service and taken out our guest-designated computer in the office.
Guests can bring their own laptops and connect to a "hot spot" in most
cabins and in most areas of the campground.
"No
Pets" Policy in our Cabins. This
policy continues, although pets are welcome in the campground as long as
they are on leashes and owners clean up after them. We regret having to do this,
but clean-up (and other) problems persisted and, for the comfort of other guests,
we've had to make our cabins "pet free."
2009
News:
August
Long Weekend Celebration. This event
was a huge success and featured our 4th Annual
Bocce Ball Tournament and a visit by Tundra
the wolf.
Many
Waterfront Campsites Now Have Water and Power. Many
of our most popular campsites have had water and power added. Stay in more comfort
in waterfront sites 50 through 57.
What's
Cluxewe Like the Rest of the Year? We get this question a lot, so we've had
a lovely slideshow
developed (with musical accompaniment) showing you the Resort through the year
- winter as well as summer. You will need Adobe
Flash to view the presentation.
Other Improvements: We've done the following
in the last few years to make your visit more comfortable and fun:
