Beaver Lake Nature Trail: Follow the Island Highway (#19) NW of Cluxewe Resort for 15-20 minutes; turn left at Highway 30. (Port Alice Highway). 5 minute drive, before golf course turn right at the sign, and follow the self guided tour. 1 km, short easy hike. Watch for bears.
Marble River Park: Continue along Highway 30 for 10 more minutes. Turn left at Marble River Provincial Park. At the rear of the campground is a sign and the trail head. 4 km trail, with a choice between the river trail which is difficult, or the forest trail which is of medium difficulty. About 3 and a half to 4 hour hike return. Good salmon and eagle viewing. Watch for bears.
Alice Lake: Access (includes boat ramp) is at the other side of Highway 30 from Marble River Park. Good trout fishing spring and early summer.
Bullock's
Beach Trail
(also known as Cluxewe Beach)
4.5 km drive on Rupert Main gravel road proceeding NW from Cluxewe Resort. Turn right onto R 100 and right again at first road. 10 to 15 minute hike to beach, medium difficulty. Some slippery stairs and courduroy road. Sensitive habitat and great birding opportunities. Map available here.
